Hurdles in Learning Globish

Global English is the concept of English language as a global or international means of communication. It has not been born in isolation but a product of evolvement of English over the years.  English is spoken not only by first language users but as well as international English language speakers. In the industries involving English language, education is one of the many who first provided great indication of how English is spread as a common tongue worldwide. It has made the language vital for individual or national success.

Since English has been widely used in the different societies and industries worldwide, many people seek knowledge of English. These people travel to English-speaking countries to learn and study English. An issue then on teaching global English transpired. According to researches, students who want to learn English spend large sums of money, yet never get what they want. Most English language learners want to be proficient and effective communicators, thinking that they can achieve this through enrolling in schools. However, it has been found out that these learners do not get even half of what they expected. In reality, in schools, students are only taught of the concepts and are left alone to apply them. These foreign learners then spend so much money and just being paralyzed in classrooms, high fees with less application and learning. According to Amorey Gethin, there is no point in going to a country to learn its language if you do not spend most of your time observing the language in real life action for yourself, in its written as well as spoken.

English language learners must be made to understand that the only role of the global English Teachers is to present the concepts and answer the questions about the language. Proficiency and efficacy lay on the hands of the learners. Learning a foreign language is a process of intensive observation which people have to do most of the part alone.
