BSU Holds Job Fair

   Bukidnon State University held a Job Fair last February 24, 2012, Friday at University Covered Court. This was the first job fair held and iniated by the Guidance Services Office, headed by Dr. Helen M. Escudero in coordination with DOLE, POEA X and PESO Malaybalay City. There were total number of 29 agencies who came and sought for job applicants both local and overseas. Some of the agencies who joined were San Miguel Foods; SM Surplus; Arriba Telecontact; Concentrix; He and Sons Corporation; Interserve Manpower; BUSCO Sugar Milling; G and A and Hopewell Overseas Manpower. Among the job vacancies offered were those for accountant; secretary; sales clerk; welder; construction worker; waiter and waitress; cook; service crew; kitchen staff; graphic artist; automotive mechanic; factory workers; personal bodyguard; driver and domestichelper. The purpose for the job fair was to help graduating and alumni students of Bukidnon State University to seek employment. There were 302 applicants from CBAHPG, 50 from CAS, 26 from CTED, 14 from CCEIT and three from CON, comprising a total number of 395 applicants from the different colleges.
The program was formally started at 8:30 in the morning with Ms. Imelda Tubeo as the Master of Ceremony. Mr. Herculano S. Ronolo, PESO Manager, acknowledged all the participating agencies local and overseas. In behalf of Dr. Victor M. Barroso, University President, Eng. Rogelio Amba the Vice President for Academic Affairs gave his welcome address. The rationale of the activity was presented by Dr. Helen M. Escudero, Head of the Guidance Services. Mr. Sisimo B. Cano, DOLE Regional Director Region X, gave his inspirational message to all of the job applicants and to the participating agencies as well. Mr. Raul M. Valmores gave the mechanic and guidelines to the job applicants to maintain the good flow of the job hunting process. The job fair was officially opened by Mr. Herculano S. Ronolo. The Language and Letters faculty headed by Dr. Hazel Jean M. Abejuela helped the job applicants in producing and editing their application letters and resumes. The job fair successfully ended, many were hoping that the job fair will become an annual activity of the University.
