Learn English Language

“One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way.”(Frank Smith)

The purpose of English language learning is to continue to develop a framework for designing an assessment of English proficiency for young learners of English as a foreign language and investigate how familiar students of English as a foreign language are with technology and with testing on a computer.

We all know that English is one of the widely spoken language around the world and the most taught. It is used as the business language as well as the medium of instructions in schools and universities. In our country, many people learn English as our foreign or second language.

People with English as a second language constitute a significant percentage of the population in our nation. Research shows that 93.5% of Filipino can speak and understand English well. This population continues to increase more rapidly than that of Native English speaking students (Shore, 2001). Several authors regarding the theory of language acquisition shared their thought about it. According to Dr. Stephen Krashen, an expert in the study of second language acquisition, the best way to learn second language acquisition is through immersion. He said that “acquisition is the product of a subconscious process very similar to the process of how children undergo when they acquire their first language. It requires meaningful interaction in the target language- natural communication in which speakers are concentrated not in the form of their utterances but in the communicative act.” Another also is by Professor J. Cummins – “We should not assume that non-native speakers who have attained a high degree of fluency and accuracy in everyday spoken English have the corresponding academic language proficiency”.

According to Richard Nordquist ,the dominant role of English as a world language forces it upon our attention in a way that no language has ever done before. As English becomes the chief means of communication between nations, it is crucial to ensure that it is taught accurately and efficiently, and to study changes in its structure and use. Language acquisition also benefits a person by creating a greater comprehension for how language works and is used. The study found individuals with multilingual communication were able to better read and interpret social situations, which improved their performance in social settings.(Cristine,2010).These are few reasons why a lot of Filipinos wants to learn English language. Whatever the reasons you have, you will never regret it because language is viewed as a means of communication in the real world.
